Location. We are located in Independence, Texas, in Washington County, just minutes north of Brenham (an easy hour and a half drive from Houston or Austin, two and a half hours from San Antonio, and three and a half hours from Dallas).See a map of how to get to Heartland. Luxury Accommodations. We have overnight accommodations for over 200 persons. Our seven homes offer 50 bedrooms, tastefully furnished with a unique combination of elegance in a casual atmosphere. Comfortable beds and a variety of antiques and accessories reflect a lovely blend of gracious furnishings. Heartland is located on 158 acres perched atop a hill overlooking a spectacular panoramic view of rolling countryside that immediately takes your breath away with scenery usually found only on postcards or in your dreams. A truly special adventure is awaiting you in a back-to-nature stress-free getaway with cows grazing in the meadows, a country church, lakes, trees, Texas wildflowers and native wildlife. Large sunny or shaded porches, balconies and patios enhance your enjoyment of hilltop breezes, serene vistas and sunsets that make rest and relaxation the way of life at Heartland. Meeting Facilities. Our conference facilities can serve as many as 200+ people in a classroom configuration, and we have 8 smaller conference rooms as well. It is here that you will enjoy delicious meals while viewing nature's outdoor scenery in a comfortable climate controlled environment. We proudly offer our renowned breakfast feast, and can accommodate any of your group's dining needs, from country-style home cooking to gourmet menus, as well as vegetarian and wheat-free diets.
